LZF Lifestyles – Fashion photographer Eva Zocher

April 30, 2014 3:55 pm Published by

Our first LZF Lifestyle story is about german fashion photographer Eva Zocher.

The first time you step into the industrial elevator that takes you up to Eva’s you might feel transported to New York, but no: you are right in the middle of Frankfurt/Germany, in the Gutleuteviertel neighbourhood, an old industrial and port area between the railtracks and the river Main which has been refurbished in recent years. And then you step into Eva Zocher’s studio cum loft and immediately feel surrounded by a very special atmosphere: a certain derelictness that has been intentionally preserved when the place was refurbished, combined with modern functionality and a motley decoration made up of pieces of art, antiques, collectors’ objects and vintage furniture. In a way, her studio reflects Eva Zocher’s way of life: She has been a successful Fashion and People photographer for 20 years now, hence the artistic touch. Furthermore, for her job she has been travelling quite a bit and thus been able to bring back curious souvenirs to decorate her place. And then, as a hobby, she is also a restaurator of old furniture to which end she has created a little working area in the basement of the building.

It is this touch of modern and fashionable coolness combined with reminiscences of old fashioned handycraft that seduced us about Eva Zocher and her lifestyle which is visible in the decoration of her studio where old furniture restored by herself in her free time fits perfectly with peculiar pieces of art into the  functional albeit somewhat vintage backdrop of an old industrial building. This is also the kind of decoration and lifestyle that makes here at LZF lamps feel right at home.

Thank you Eva !!!
