LZF’s Thesis and Black Note collections on show at Feria Hábitat Valencia 2019

Lighting from LZF’s new Thesis and Black Note collections will be on show at the forthcoming Feria Hábitat Valencia (17–20 September 2019). A showcase for the Spanish design industry, the Feria Hábitat Valencia attracted more than 26,000 national and international visitors in 2018. LZF’s lamps will be on display in two areas at the fair: in a retrospective exhibition of work by architect Ramón Esteve and as part of a showcase by JMM (José Martínez Medina, one of Spain’s leading office furniture manufacturers).

Ramón Esteve is fast becoming one of Spain’s most celebrated architects. Having founded his eponymous studio in 1991, today Esteve works across a range of design disciplines. This year, the Feria Hábitat Valencia has recognised Esteve as a professional who has made a significant mark on the world of interiors. With every project, both he and his team strive to achieve results that balance clarity, simplicity, consistency and harmony. From an initial, basic concept, ideas morph and evolve into designs that have soul, timeless appeal, universality and an ability to connect with their environment. Esteve’s Thesis and Black Note collections for LZF are perfect examples of his approach to and thinking on design.

The Ramón Esteve retrospective at the Feria Hábitat Valencia will include both Thesis and Black Note models.

Thesis is a modern and intimate lamp. Available as a floor lamp, table lamp and wall lamp, its design is, on the surface, relatively simple: a wood veneer shade is held by a metal tripod. And yet Thesis is also technically innovative, having an elegant and minimal shade that houses the hidden LED light source.

Designing Black Note, Esteve was inspired by the black keys on a piano—he created a lamp with perpendicular shades that rise and fall in harmony. Black Note is available in four compositions: Black Note Keys, Black Note Triplet suspension, Black Note Triplet floor, and Black Note Duplet. Black Note’s metal frame (in several finishes), works harmoniously with its luminous, warm wood veneer shade.

At the JMM stand (this Spanish heritage company was founded in Valencia in 1896), LZF’s Thesis collection will be on show.

Recently, the Asociación de Diseñadores de la Comunitat Valenciana (Association of Designers of the Valencian Community or ADCV), recognised LZF with an Honorary Award in Innovation. It is therefore exciting to have two of our most recent lighting collections on show at the Feria Hábitat Valencia—in LZF’s home city, with two stalwarts of the Valencian design scene.
