There is nothing fishy about this fish. A wondrous life-size light sculpture, Fish is kin to Isidro Ferrer’s Funny Farm character—The Walking Fish. With its peculiar gait and curious smile, Fish is an affable and agreeable oddity, as well as a big fish in the world of light.

In order to produce Fish, craftsman Manolo Martin utilised a traditional Valencian technique known as ‘vareta’: a process of creating a three-dimensional model by using wood strips treated with water.

Eager to make friends of all shapes and sizes, Fish is content anywhere: from a children’s hospital to a corporate lobby and everything in-between.

Each Life Size piece is unique, as evidenced by the artisan’s handcraftsmanship in each one of them, the finish of each one is different and the raw materials used, without hiding their original nature, highlight their uniqueness, providing a coherent discourse with the artist’s intention.
